Rhode Tour offers an engaging way to explore the rich heritage and cultural history of Rhode Island through a free smartphone application. Dubbed the “Ocean State,” Rhode Island is imbued with compelling stories, notable landmarks, and diverse communities. The app features an expanding collection of interpretive narratives, with each location on the GPS-enabled interactive map providing detailed historical context, accompanied by historic images and multimedia content from archival collections and renowned publications. Developed by the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage in collaboration with the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, Rhode Tour aims to enhance public engagement with the state's heritage through digital storytelling.
